Don't Take Our Word For It
What QMHPs Say About Working Here
I came from an agency where I had 58 kids and no support. Here I have 11 families, they are all within 20 minutes of my house, and I actually know my clients. It's completely different.
T.W.
I have worked at two other places before this. Both of them basically handed me a list and expected me to figure it out. Here they actually walked me through everything first. Most places I worked before didn't really do that.
D.M.
I referred two people from my old job. We all got the bonus and we are all still here. We all came from agencies that overloaded people. This feels more manageable.

Understanding the Role
What Is a QMHP?
A Qualified Mental Health Professional does direct work with kids and families. It is not therapy. It does not require a clinical license. It is one of the most hands-on ways to show up for communities that need it most.
Skills Training
- →Teaching kids how to handle big emotions without it turning into a blowup
- →Working on how they communicate at home and at school
- →Helping build basic routines — getting up, showing up, keeping it together
- →Teaching kids how to work through problems instead of shutting down or acting out
- →Anger and frustration management
- →Building independence over time so they need less support not more
Targeted Case Management
- →Helping families figure out what services exist and how to actually get them
- →Working with schools on behalf of the family — IEPs, behavior plans, communication
- →Connecting families to community resources when what we do is not enough
- →Coaching parents on how to handle things at home between sessions
- →Checking in consistently and adjusting your approach when something is not working

The Honest Part
Why People Leave Other Agencies
You probably already know.
Caseloads nobody can manage. 50, 60, 70 kids. No ceiling, no accountability.
Driving all over the metroplex. Clients scattered everywhere with no geographic matching.
No one to call. Questions about billing, documentation, or a family in crisis — you figure it out alone.
Bonuses that never pay. Structures designed to sound good in the interview and disappear in practice.
You find your own clients. Referrals dry up and it becomes your problem.
Good QMHPs don't leave this field because they stopped caring. They leave because the agencies make it unsustainable.
